What SEPAcode Does

SEPAcode is a tool for generating EPC QR codes that encode SEPA payment details. The app processes all data locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your data.

Scope of License

SEPAcode is licensed to you, not sold. This license is personal, non-exclusive, and non-transferable. You may use the app only on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, in accordance with Apple’s App Store terms of service. You may not distribute, sublicense, rent, lease, or otherwise transfer the app to any third party. Before transferring ownership of your device, you must remove the app from it.

Subscriptions

SEPAcode offers auto-renewable subscriptions that provide access to premium features (“SEPAcode Pro”).

Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at the time of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store account settings.

Prices may vary by region and are displayed in the app before purchase.

All payments are processed by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information and cannot issue refunds. For refund requests, please contact Apple directly.

Your Responsibility for Payment Details

SEPAcode generates QR codes based solely on the information you enter. We do not verify the accuracy, completeness, or validity of any data you input — including recipient name, IBAN, amount, or payment reference.

Before confirming any payment in your banking app, you are responsible for verifying that all payment details are correct. We accept no liability for payments made on the basis of incorrect, incomplete, or fraudulent QR codes, regardless of whether the error originated in the app or in the data you entered.

No Warranty

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• the app will function correctly or without interruption at all times,
• the QR codes generated will be accepted or processed by any particular banking app or institution,
• the app will be compatible with your device or operating system version,
• the app will be available in the App Store or continue to be offered in the future.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Jan Broder Engler shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use SEPAcode, including but not limited to:

• incorrect, failed, or duplicate payments,
• loss resulting from reliance on QR codes generated by the app,
• data loss or device issues.

This limitation does not apply in cases of intentional misconduct or gross negligence. To the extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for any and all claims shall not exceed €50.

Discontinuation of the App

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue SEPAcode at any time and for any reason, without prior notice. This includes removing the app from the App Store. We are under no obligation to provide updates, maintain compatibility with future operating system versions, or continue offering the app in any form.

Intellectual Property

The app, including its design, code, and trademarks, is the intellectual property of Jan Broder Engler. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works based on the app or any part of it.

Termination

This license remains in effect until terminated. Your rights under these Terms end automatically, without notice, if you fail to comply with any of their provisions. Upon termination, you must stop using the app and remove all copies from your devices.

Export Restrictions

You may not use or export the app in violation of applicable export control laws and regulations. In particular, the app may not be exported to any country subject to a U.S. government embargo, or to any person or entity appearing on a U.S. government restricted-party list. By using the app, you confirm that you are not located in such a country and are not named on any such list.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany. If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you may additionally benefit from the mandatory consumer protection provisions of the law of your country of residence.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The date of the most recent update is shown at the top of this page.
